The treatment of children has a long tradition in Piešťany. The first children’s healing house, Kvetuša, was founded in 1932 by Ľudovít Winter, one of the first in Europe. The first head physician in the children’s healing house was Dr. Ľudovít Billeš.

The children’s healing house has a capacity of 61 beds in 23 rooms. The rooms are designed for disabled patients and have been adapted for children in a wheelchair. In certain cases there is the possibility for accommodation with a parent.

The healing house has its own balneotherapy and rehabilitation centre, and provides not only complete medical care but also a full daily programme for children. The complex contains a kindergarten, school and play area.

The physicians’ surgeries are located directly in the healing house. Medical care includes initial and final medical examination, final examination with a proposal for a rehabilitation regime and lifestyle, medical treatment according to the indicated disease, and full medical care in cases of acute disease.
