Villa Dr. Szontagh is a guesthouse with warm familiar atmosphere, nestled in the beautiful High Tatra mountains.

Villa Dr. Szontagh is a historic house which was built in 1914 and for long time resided by Szontagh family - founders of Novy Smokovec area. Over the years the villa has been impeccably restored to its present beauty.

With various types of rooms we can accommodate most visitors' requests. We offer accommodation of 5 suites, 9 double-rooms and 1 single-room.
All rooms have private baths, TV, radio alarm clock and phone. Of these rooms, there are most of them with private or shared decks and mini-bars.

Novy Smokovec was founded in year 1876, afterwards the first Szontagh's sanatorium was built and on July 1st, brought into state of running.
The main therapeutic element was all the year round climatic cure and sun-bad.

Thanks to successful introduction and growing prosperity of his sanatorium there were built some new facilities in Novy Smokovec.

In year 1899, there was already existing a sanatory complex consisting of 26 buildings and 12 summer-houses. On west from sanatory complex, there was a stand of holder's villa which was in year 1914 enlarged at nowaday "Villa Dr. Szontagh".

The Szontagh's villa was in name of restitution law, given back to lawfully heiress, Katarina Anna Szontagh, in year 1991. That year was a comeback of long time in secret kept Szontagh's tradition.

Szontagh's symbol has survived time of fraudulent supression and paradoxly, the sun from familiar coat-of-arms, became in the fifties an emblem of Novy Smokovec.
